Rain Man, to the Rescue…

Rain Man, Jamie Moyer
came to the rescue again, following another Pedro Martinez
start. He’s had 4 starts now, 2 of which he never got past the 3 inning
due to rain the other 2 he manage a combined 11 innings giving up 7
runs, that’s an investment any team should be proud to have made.

Martinez, praying
for more rain, or just that he doesn’t have to go back out there?

I felt sorry for the Braves
pitcher, Hanson, who is Atlanta’s version of the Phillies JA
Happ
. An excellent young pitcher who would have probably gone
deep into the game, I am sure this kid has a lot of good years ahead of
him.

It was 70’s night at CBP
and to add to the flavor of the night they posted images of the players
on the big screen in a 70’s theme, Ryan Howard who managed
to hit 2 "Howard Homers" picking up another 3
RBI’s to help the Phillies on their way to the 4-2 win, was somehow
given the image of what could only be described as a 70’s ‘Pimp
Daddy’
I am sure the guys had plenty of laughs at all the images
shown…

Rain Man,
pitched a solid 4 plus innings allowing only 1 run on a fielding
misjudgment by Victorino, which really couldn’t behelped
with the weather conditions…

Just in case some people were starting
to think Raul Ibanez was showing his age, he hit a rocket
into center field and raced around the bags for a triple, which is
normally only reserved for the young super fast players at CBP…

The double rain delay put a
damper on seeing how Martinez would perform against a hot rival team,
but the good news was the Phillies got the win and increased there lead
in the NL East to 8 games.

Tonight the Phillies
continue there hosting at CBP against the Braves, with the unbeaten Lee
in a Phillies uniform going against the Braves, Lowe, this is destined
to be a pitchers duel at its best, if both guys bring there top game
tonight…

I think the Phils are about to put an exclamation point on the N.L. East race — not that Atlanta or Florida were holding out much hope, but short of a sweep this weekend — and maybe even if the Braves had managed a sweep — Atlanta would need the Phillies entire offense to take a three-week hiatus, and Ryan Howard seems determined to not let that happen. I hate to admit it, but the Phils are looking good even with the closer issues.

The Phillies are just showing everyone how good they are, and as far as Ryan Howard, he loves to hit the long ball and is very good at it. two yesterday puts him atop the leaders in NL homers. I think at least… =)> I have a new post up.

Peter: Nice post! This rain is something else! I don’t know why I didn’t put Hamels on the list. He is pretty cute, but I think Happ is cuter. And Pujols, that was a bad pic of him. He looks too hairy. But in real life, he is pretty hot. Garrett Jones is by FAR THE HOTTEST, but what is wrong with the rest of them? -Virginia

That pimp daddy pic of Howard is hilarious! No wonder his teammates had a good time with it.

I’m beginning to think Pedro made a side-deal with voodoo rainmakers so he wouldn’t have to work as hard. hehe. Moyer, well, I think he’s found his niche as the old guy who’ll do anything to keep his job. PS, Ryan Howard put the “pimp” in “pimp-slap”.

That is a hilarious picture of Howard. I love how it says Scorpio under his name hahaha. Jamie Moyer… it’s nice that he’s been able to stick around for as long as he has. It’s also nice to see he escaped the rain, LOL.

Thank you for the comment. Philly fans are tough as well, maybe it is an east coast thing. Hey things could be worse right… Keep in touch brother. Good luck with the remainder of the season. The phillies look tough and now that they have Cliff Lee, the rotation is in place to deliver another trip to the big show. See you there!

    Yep, it was 8.
But tonight Cliff Lee had the rare off night. I’ll tell you, it was beyond humid here in PHilly tonight. I can well imagine how hard it was to pitch down in South Philly tonight.

With the loss last night, it showed all of Philly that Cliff Lee is mortal, and he isn’t going to pitch with a sub 1.00 ERA for the rest of the year. He just isn’t that good, but he has been showing he is. When his true colors appear, Philly will change their minds about him.

I love the themed nights. That scoreboard looked hilarious. Moyer to the rescue again, eh? Funny how he’s done that twice in games the “other guy” has pitched. Good for him being professional. He could really get fans behind him and cause a scene if he wanted to.
