I think Jamie is a hell of a guy, he just keeps pounding the ball into home plate, no matter what happens he just keeps on pluging away. He had a slow start, giving up some homers, but it didn’t seem to phase him and when I think I am just a few years older than him, he looks as though he could be doing it at 50, probably not, but he makes it look so easy, even when he’s loosing or winning. Well today he couldn’t have got the win without the offence and it was good to see them score runs with old style baseball, play hard, run hard and hit for the gaps, everyone likes to see homers especially from the Phillies, but when they go out and win from base running, a double, a triple and a fly ball, its nice to know they don’t have to hit homers everyday. So a couple of errors that could have been costly, but like all good team mates they played through them and still left the Jays feeling Blue. So now it’s off to Atlanta, inter-league is over, thankfully, back to a stretch of NL East games, these all count a little bit more, so lets see more of why the Phillies players rank high in the All Star Voting. Don’t forget you can still vote till midnight Thursday, lets get more Phillies on the team…. VOTE….VOTE…..VOTE
Phillies Pheeling Blue against the Jays….

the guys were just swinging at everything and getting
themselves out…. my mistake, the umpires strike zone makes
them swing, since the zone seems to move about….
re-enforces my comments yesterday, the Phillies are being
squeezed by the umpires of late…. Hamels is normally very
relaxed and keeps his cool, no matter what, but tonight he
had had enough, dont blame him, okay so he was out of the
game when he was ejected, but he must have hit a nerve with
the umpire for him to eject a player that had just been
replaced in the game…. I should have known better than to
think the Phillies would get far play in Canada or anywhere
in the AL….
Phillies back on the road…

So they lost 2 of 3, but there are some interesting things that I have noticed in the last week or so, maybe it’s just cause I am a Phillies fan or maybe it’s just cause I am watching it on MLBTV, never the less it has become more noticeable, to me. Not many like to dig at the umpires and some will blame them for everything, I have started to see a trend of the opposition getting the favorable calls, no matter how clear they are to those wtaching the game from the sidelines or on the TV. There was Dobbs home run, should have been reviewed, what is the rule anyway, I thought if the manager requested it and it disputed a home run, it had to be reviewed, guess not….. Jimmy Rollins clearly safe at first base, called out.. WHAT!!!! how could he be out, again he’s out cause he’s in a Phillies uniform…. A whole host of balls and strikes have gone against Phillies pitchers and hitters respectively, regardless of what people may say, they have gone against the Phillies and played a major role in the win/loss record. Tonight was the final straw, which is why I found I had to comment, Durbin was out of the inning almost… again balls when they were strikes called…. then what the hell were they thinking to review the ground rule double…. it wasn’t a home run… didn’t matter that the runner may have scored… it WASN’T a home run… not reviewable… maybe the rules should be clarified or maybe my understanding is totally wrong… review it if it doesn’t help the Phillies maybe thats the rule…. okay attacked the umpires enough, maybe it will be different in Canada, yeah right… Swinging strikes, maybe someone should emphasize the basic rule, if the pitcher isn’t throwing strikes don’t swing…. I know it’s tougher being at the plate, but until recently everyone was hitting great, till interleague at home, then it’s like their swinging at everything that head towards the vacinaty of home plate. Whats done is done maybe Canada will start the upswing and get the team into the habit of winning series again….. GO PHILLIES….
