Sloppy Phillies End 10 Game Win Streak…

Well there was not much to say about today’s game, except the weather conditions were almost perfect for the ball to travel far and wide, except it didn’t, it didn’t even come close to reaching the fences.

sloppygiftcard.jpgIt would be unfair to single out any specific Phillies player, because frankly most were sloppy at one time or another, pitching, offence defense, you name it.

The home plate umpire is a different story, he deserves to be singled out. It wasn’t the fact that he should have been wearing a Zambrano Fan Club shirt, it was more like an ‘I Hate Phillies’ shirt, the strike zone was a little, shall we say expandable and contractable, and his sun glasses blocked his view of a critical called strike on Bako when it clearly wasn’t a strike, the ball actually bounced in the dirt, dirt flew up and everything, but as usually they’re always right, so came the ejection of Charlie Manual

More than likely, Charlie had seen more than enough and said to Dubee, ‘I’m outta here.’ =)

It was a painful game to watch, wasnt it?

Oh well….tomorrow night it’s the Padres. Hopefully they’ll crumple at the Phillies’ collective feet. =)

Thank goodness the Cubbies could take one. I was debating with a friend about how awful the Cubs are. That they can beat up on the losers of the league but as soon as they meet a team with some talent they fall apart.

Going to be another tough year on the North Side.

I know by the time Lidge got in yesterday it wasn’t a save situation or anything like that, but something is seriously wrong with him, this is just unreal! Brad Lidge has become the worst closer in the MLB, do you think it’s bad karma? Or voodoo (like Cole Hamels is fighting)? In all reality, what is going on? His ERA is 7.20, again, ugh. Phillies fans can talk all they want about getting another starter or whatever, but if we can’t close games, how will we win anything?
