The Dark Ages ….

emptiness that had indescribable feelings, you could sense the knot in the pit
of your stomach without knowledge of why it was there, there was no explanation
of why you felt this way. You had been in this place before, hell you even grew
up in it, yet now here you were again with totally new feelings, you checked
your surroundings to make sure your hadn’t fallen into some unexplained time
warp and drifted back to the middle ages……

……you even scan the horizon, look around every corner,
making sure there isn’t crowds of unexplained people waiting in the wings, even
though it feels like you’ve been hit with some kind of EM communication canon as
part of some……

…….Hollywood propaganda stunt to promote a new movie, no
matter how much people want to believe that a technology induced ‘fire sale’
could only happen in the minds of movie moguls, their wrong, it’s easier
than some may think to induce panic and genocidal tendencies with the use of
technology….
…..having used and abused technology for the greater ‘good and
evil’ over the last 30 years, I can safely say it’s definitely for younger blood
these days, anyone who has doubts should have visited Vegas last week, what
happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unless it’s following this conference,
I hear even the government may have been trying to enlist some green horns
there, one things for sure…..

……AT&T wasn’t there, they were here, inflicting all
kinds of cruel unimaginable technological genocides on a small out of the way
village and some surrounding areas in Ohio. For some unknown reason this company
seemed to have blacked out communications of all kinds from Friday till today,
no explanation, no storms, no unexplained meteor showers, no foreign or alien
life forms dropping out of the sky, and even the iPhone 4 couldn’t do this much
damage.
It’s funny how we evolve, even 10 years ago this wouldn’t have
mattered to much, life would have go on, my technological dependencies were
almost all work related back then, the occasional access to the office network
from home, or the occasional client calling the cell phone nowadays things are
different, with no way to communicate with the outside world, it’s hard to
fathom what we did before the likes of Smart Phones, high speed DSL, Skype,
MLB.tv, now it seems for the most part things are back to normal, as normal as
it gets round here anyway, which to most isn’t very normal.
I can now take some time and review my WTF Award for July, which
will hopefully be digitally awarded in the next couple of days.
Is McGwire on PED’s again ?
Posted: June 4, 2010 Filed under: Dailies | Tags: AL, Allen Krause, Cardinals, Jeff, Jeffery Lung, Mark McGwire, Mark Newman, McGwire, MLB, MLBAM, MLBlogosphere, MLBlogs, Padres, PED's, Philadelphia, phillies, Red State Blue State, RSBS, San Diego, St. Louis 16 CommentsThe Phillies returned home yesterday and
took some rest, more like some, gather my thoughts time, and while some
players were probably reflecting on how best to ignite the offense, so they
don’t end up with a sell out ‘boo-bird’ stadium this weekend, others I am
sure were checking out the Rollins’ Basebowl Tournament, an event J-Roll
hosts every year, I just hope he played it safe with his calf injury and took no
risks.
The San Diego Padres are in town for the
weekend, it seems like the Phillies are
getting no breaks, they just got off a road trip, which put them in all the over
sized ball parks with hot teams and now they get home to host another hot
team in the Padres, if they can break
out of this, whatever it is, over the weekend then they will deserve
every run and hit they get against this Padres
team that is currently dominating the West.
Other news in baseball, it seems that Mark McGwire has been at it
again, yep you guessed it, this time he can’t deny it, cause there is no way in
hell a guy like him knocks up a chick like his wife and then she has triplets,
all girls on June 1st, yep gotta believe he was poppin’ the blue ones. On a side
note, that I didn’t pick up on at the time and haven’t seen mentioned anywhere,
yes I know Stephanie McGwire is his 2nd wife, but she was a pharmaceutical rep
when they met, is that weird or is it me.
The most important news from yesterday around MLB, was actually here
in the Blogosphere, not it’s not the fact that the Blogosphere’s
front page depicted the almost perfect game, but at the time chose not to depict
Roy Halladay’s actual perfect game, it isn’t the fact that the Blogosphere’s
front page went through a quick change to cover the retirement of "KG
Jr.", it wasn’t even the fact that after yesterday’s post I managed to
get through the day without having my blog cancelled by ‘The Man’ Mark Newman,
who’s really a nice guy, (sucking up), or the geeky guru powers at
his disposal within the Blogosphere… No people this event almost
got my WTF award for June, it is definitely still in the running, depending on
the rest of the month, this earth shattering event happened at none other than RSBS
– I hear you ask, what other than Jeff falling off a female sCrUBS fan in a
drunken stuper, could possibly be earth shattering at RSBS
– Well I have the proof in pictures, for all of you who are familiar
with the escapades of Jeff and Al, you’ll know that both try to alternate posts
on the blog, but it seems Jeff is the only one who knows how to comment, well I
have the proof…..

….that’s definitely AL’s handtyping, I have it on good
authority and if you want to see the evidence for your self just click the link
at the end and scroll down to the 5th comment…. click
here
Time to get ready for the Phillies vs Padres and hopefully the
next big news story will be the Phillies breaking out of this…
……what ever it is
Where’s the cheese ?
Posted: June 3, 2010 Filed under: Dailies | Tags: Armando Galarraga, blogging, blogillion, BP, Charlie Manuel, cheese, Jim Joyce, Mark Newman, Milt Thompson, MLB, MLB.com, MLBAM, MLBlogosphere, phillies, sh-it, Todd Zolecki, Umpires, whine, zozone 14 CommentsWhy do we have the latest leaders board?
Is it nice to know if your blog is seen more than someone else’s?
Are we being polite when we say “it doesn’t matter where on the list
we are”?
How do you really feel when your blog is seen less than someone who only
posted 1 post over 18 months ago?
It’s like asking “should Armando Galarraga suffer for the mistake of
some umpire who was not paying attention”? it was obvious to everyone that Jason
Donald was out, everyone except Jim Joyce the umpire in question. Who
complained the least, the guy with the most to lose, Galarraga. The
problem is Joyce is the one that will be in the history books now and not
Galarraga. Of course Jim Joyce was man enough to admit his mistake
after the fact, but too little too late, if MLB re-adjust’s the numbers to show a
perfect game as many people have been calling for, this will set a precedence
and cause so many other requests for reviews of game outcomes, it would do
nothing except lengthen an already long season. – Okay that sent me just
tad off topic –
I guess what I am saying is, if we’re going to have a list of the top ‘blogillion’
blogs, shouldn’t it be a fair playing field for all. I can glance down the list
of blogs and instantly see those that I visit on a regular basis, I can also see
those that I know have no action and those that just appeared, and of course
there are those that have been lucky enough to be highlighted by the MLBlogosphere
and have miraculously jumped up the ranking considerably. I know Mark Newman
is a very busy man with MLBAM and all, but surely he has people that deal
with this now, or at least some guru/geek that can decipher the good the bad and
the ugly.
At this point there are no more questions just statements, the lists that
represents the Pro Blogs and the Beat Writers are of
course just what they are, it will be tough for a beat writer to compete with
Todd Zolecki at the ZOZONE
simply because if anyone has been there regularly they know there are a few
people that seem to openly live there lives in the comments section of his blog,
of which is available both through the MLBlogosphere and of course as
regular news items on MLB.com.
The Fans Blog list however, is the one that is not on level
playing ground, there were people asking in the comments of last
months latest leaders list how to get on the list, which is a tough question
to answer. Some of us spend as much time as we have available writing posts,
commenting on other bloggers posts in the hope that they will return the favor
and also that someone may see your link and visit your site, this works, most
bloggers do return the favor, I say most because not all do, and some don’t do
it all of the time either. -Okay moving slightly off point again –
Lets take a look at some of the blogs that made the list this
month and last
month –
#24 is a blog that made a couple of posts in the middle of January, that’s
all this year, yet they weren’t on last months list but jumped straight in at
#24 for May.
#20 down from #19 last month hasn’t posted anything since mid August 2009,
don’t get me wrong I have nothing against these bloggers, in fact I was a
regular commenter of #20 when she was blogging.
#30 up from #41 last month, is even featured on the picture for this
month, openly admits the blog is closed and has moved to a new location
away from mlblogs.
#33 up from #37 last month, okay this one is the funniest of all so far, 1
post in the life of the blog, that post was on April 29th 2009, yes over a year
ago, yet it still is on the list and climbing no less.
#35 down from #2 last month, this is an example of how being highlighted can
help, during March this blog found it’s way on the from of the Blogosphere.
These ones I mention are not the only blogs, they are just the ones I have
chosen to mention, there are a number of blogs with 1 or 2 entries a month or
just this 1 or 2 entries this year that seem to stick around the top twenty or
top thirty, because they have longevity in the Blogosphere. Just
one more I want to mention, last month #30 seems to move up to #27 this month,
the link however is a different link, the name on the list matches the blog it
linked to last month, but not the blog it links to this month, yet the blog it
is linked to this month is more believable as the blog that should possibly be
on the list, confused, so am I, I have no answer, so you’ll have to stay as
confused as me.
It’s fair to say most of, if not all, the top ten blogs have been around for
sometime and have made there way to the top ten because of it, or inspite of it,
it is also fair to say that some blogs stick around without any action for the
reasons. Like all newcomers to anything it takes time to be accepted and to
develop a following of any kind, it also helps when you get the assistance of
controlling organizations, like the MLBlogosphere. So hound them
till you get a front and center promotion like a couple of the top 10 blogs have
had this year already.
Strange as it may be I have no pictures in this post except that which I have
depicted with my words. Take this as you may, for some I am sure they will see
it as a gripe, a whine, for others they may just take solace in the fact that
there blog may be in the top 50, but the list just doesn’t show it.
I know my blog may have dropped 10 places and that maybe my miniscule 4500
hits (excluding my own hits of course) since season start, probably makes it a
stretch that I’m even in the top 50, but with the way the Phillies are
playing I have to whine about something and I am not going to fall into
the same trap as every other Phillies fan and complain about Charlie
or Milt or the players are getting paid to lose, sh-it happens.. or
maybe this is BP’s fault
Now where’s that cheese….

MLBlogosphere – Latest
Leaders – March 2010
I’m thinking maybe our illustrious leader Mark is working on that wish list, or more importantly my visitor magnet, so people just come to my blog.
Thanks to all who read by the way, I did make #26 on the list…
Although I need one that will stop people like the dude from this post ‘Real Men of Genius’ write stuff like this: “I don’t care about your Phillies and your crappy blog.” compliments of
Phillies, Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, Rays, Blue Jays, Orioles, Twins, Tigers, White Sox, ChiSox, Indians, Royals, Angels, Rangers, Mariners, A’s, Athletics, Marlins, Braves, Nationals, Nats, Cardinals, Red Birds, Brewers, Reds, Astros, Pirates, Dodgers, Rockies, Giants, Padres, Diamondbacks, D’Backs, Arizona, San Diego, San Francisco, Colorado, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Houston, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Chicago, St. Louis, Washington, New York, Atlanta, Florida, Philadelphia, Oakland, Seattle, Texas, Kansas City, Cleveland, Tribe, Detroit, Minnesota, mini-soda, Baltimore, Toronto, Canada, Tampa Bay. Boston, BoSox
Jimmy Rollins could be on DL from today, so the great dilemma will be who to put on the bench instead of Castro, while he fills in at shortstop…. how about Brown, I know most think he’s not ready and it could hurt him sitting him on the bench for 2 weeks instead of daily play in the minors, but I say, he’s paid to do a job let him do it….
Phillies Sweep Astros – Halladay goes 50 and 150
Posted: April 11, 2010 Filed under: Dailies | Tags: 150, 50, 5th, Astros, CBP, Citizens Bank, gnats, Halladay, Home Opener, Houston, Mets, MLB, Nationals, New York, Park, pesky, phillies, sweep, The Doc, Washington 6 CommentsRoy ‘The Doc’ Halladay threw a complete game today as the Phillies win completed a sweep against the Houston Astros. The remarkable thing
about this for Halladay was the MLB leading 50th complete game for an active pitcher, it also posted Halladay’s 150th win, just think about that, every 3 wins he pitches a complete game, at that pace he could pitch around 6 or 7 complete games this year.
The Phillies picked up their 5th win of the season behind Halladay in the lowest scoring game they have had this season, in fact it’s the first game they didn’t get double digit hits. The 2-1 win is still a win and gives the Phillies a 5-1 road trip as they head back to CBP for the home opener against the Washington Nationals tomorrow afternoon. Lets hope the Phillies have more success than the Mets did at home against those pesky Nats (gnats).
AL-QAEDA Threatens FIFA World Cup….
Posted: April 11, 2010 Filed under: Dailies | Tags: al-Qaeda, Astros, Cape Town, England, FIFA, football, MLB, phillies, Roy Halladay, soccer, South Africa, Sports, sweep, USA, World Cup 4 CommentsLast week, al-Qaeda’s North African network released threats upon the FIFA World Cup event this June in South Africa. The primary target as indicated by the threat is the scheduled game between the U.S.A. and England in Cape Town.

The threats appear on al-Qaeda-linked websites. A statement said: “How
beautiful would the game between England and the USA be when broadcast
live
from a stadium full of spectators – when the sound of an explosion
rumbles
through the stands. The resulting death toll is in the dozens and
hundreds –
Allah willing.”
They have also vowed to target a full array of facilities that is known to be utilized by supporters during this tournament, from hotels to car parks. They are also claiming to have explosives that will be undetected by the security scanning systems.
This type of threat against a World Sporting event is pitiful and should be prevented at the source.
Back to Baseball
On a happier note Roy Halladay takes the mound today, as the Phillies attempt to sweep the Astros and keep them as the only team in the MLB without a win.
A. L. West Crystal Ball….

What will the American League West look like come October 2010. I know we are not even halfway through spring training and already I am looking to October. This is a time when I want to have a record i look back at and say “Jeeez was I wrong” or “Wow I nailed that one”.
Like it or not here are a few suggestions for fans of the American League West teams…
Oakland A’s fans, I am suggesting that you…

…invest some of your money in this Northwest Bolster Pillow at $19.99 Item no. 3538060 from the MLB shop, because the Oakland A’s are going to put you back to sleep this year and finish at the bottom of the division.
L.A. Angels of Anaheim should consider reviewing the possible purchase of this….

…Memory Company ‘Born to be’ Piggy Bank for $19.99, Item no. 3055337, from MLB shop, so you can start saving for game tickets for the 2011 season, because the Angels this year will disappoint as they struggle to stay in contention with the teams above them.
Texas Rangers fans should seriously consider splurging on the purchase of…

Kolder Jersey Bottle Holder for $14.99, Item no. 3094273, from the MLB shop as I fear this is the only thing the Rangers will hold in 2010 as they once again fall short of the division title.
Seattle Mariners fans will need one of these….

….Turner Licensing 2010 Box Calendar & Paper Cube for $21.99, Item no. 3785928, from the MLB shop, so that they can keep track of the post season games they will enjoy after winning the AL West division title for 2010.
any sarcasm is not meant to offend, unless it does, then consider the possibilities of more during the season.
…..and finally so as not to generate any hard feelings with a fellow blogger I have added a link to his blog to my side bar, so now you can navigate to both of these Tampa Bay fan blogs Rays Renegade and More Cowbell from my site…..
product images above are all from the respective teams online MLB shop, no guarentees on accuracy of pricing, please visit each teams MLB shop through the specific teams official website to make any purchase or for more information on these or any other products, trademarks, trade names, copyrights and patents are the property of their respective owners.

The A-Rod Cloud….
Posted: March 9, 2010 Filed under: Dailies | Tags: A-Rod, cloud, controversy, Dr. Galea, Evil Empire, FBI, HGH, hip surgery, Marc Philippon, MLB, mystery, Yankees 6 CommentsThe now famed Doctor Galea, seemed to feel it was acceptable to lay claims to assisting A-Rod with an inflamed hip following his surgery last year and denies that he prescribed or administered any HGH, PED, Steroid or any other illegal narcotic banned for use by MLB players to A-Rod. True or False, at this point it doesn’t matter, the fact that he has admitted having medical interaction with A-Rod should seriously damage A-Rods future.
WHY?
No it’s not because he’s a member of the ‘Evil Empire‘ or that miraculously he managed to start hitting the ball better at the end of the year. Simply it’s because, one lie generates another lie and escalates to a point where it’s very difficult for anyone to determine where the lies end.
What Lie? or Which Lie?
Back in December the Times reported that A-Rod’s representatives denied A-Rod had any dealings with Doctor Galea. It seems the team had suspicions, because they found it necessary to ask the question.
Does A-Rod have any defense, for this he could just continue to flat out deny he had any dealing with the Doctor, but if that is a lie, it will just generate more lies to cover up the first and you know sooner or later the media will get proof of some kind.
The surgeon who operated on A-Rods hip, Marc Philippon, denies having been aware of any hip problems after A-Rod left Colorado a month after the operation and again when he was cleared to play ball.
I am just curious, does anyone watch the games that the players play in, or do they just stand around sucking up the money, it was plain to everyone who actually watched any Yankees games down the stretch that A-Rod had some discomforted as this image shows from a game in August….

…..so there you have it, if overpaid Doctors of sports teams just watch the players now and then maybe they would know more.
This in no way can excuse A-Rod, firstly for not telling anyone that he was having problems, or if he did, not clearing it with the team before seeing a non-authorized Doctor.
More claims came in that he has at least once canceled his interview with the FBI, although now he has had a chance to review what the Doctor said about him I feel sure A-Rod will make a point to get his interview out of the way.
The problem is and will always be that we will never truly know for sure, since the MLB doesn’t test for HGH, it just forbids it’s use. So whether the mighty ‘Evil Empire’ decide to make an example of A-Rod or sweep it under the carpet one thing is for sure that A-Rod will always be surrounded by that undeniable CLOUD of CONTROVERSY and MYSTERY.
